(30 Oct 2017) The White House opened the South Lawn to some special ghouls and ghosts Monday night.
Schoolchildren and parents from more than 20 Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia schools, as well as military families were invited.
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania handed out cookies and other treats to the costumed children.
Some familiar faces in the crowd included press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The White House was decorated with spider webs, bats and orange pumpkins with profiles of past presidents as fog filled the air.
