The Taipei Transcripts

The video is a collaboration with artist Nylas Wu-Han Chou. “The Taipei Transcripts” is a research-based project which investigates the traces of the injustice sites across Taipei. The injustice sites are places for interrogation, trial, and detention in the White Terror Period of Taiwan from 1949 to 1992. Through the research on historical maps and the relics of the injustice sites, we place fictional booths in front of these sites. The installation of the booths invites viewers to uncover recollections of spaces under the dictatorship.
