The Screen & Story celebrates the work of new and established filmmakers from around the globe. Our FREE eleven-day programme, which ran between 15 and 25 September 2021, is divided into ten short film strands, three double-bills, and three feature film screenings that encourage diversity and open the festival to new audiences.
We receive over 3,000 submissions from 114 different countries.

Geographically, we had 736 entries from the United Kingdom, 409 from the United States, 278 from India, 167 from Iran and 99 from Brazil. 98 entries were not specified. It’s an impressive and long list of countries. As you can tell, it was a tough task for both film and script teams to go through all those submissions. The film team managed to put together an outstanding and diverse programme of 103 films from 39 countries, including 17 virtual premieres. Over 22 hours of great storytelling were globally live streamed over 11 days between 15th and 25th September, accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world. Meanwhile, the script team reached their deadlines and presented a strong shortlist of 90 (30 in each category – TV, Short and Feature) contenders for the inaugural edition of the Screen & Story Screenwriting Contest.
